Dell deChant, author and University of South Florida religious studies instructor, gave a detailed history of Santa Claus at the West Pasco Historical Society Museum on November 15, 2003. He traced the origin of traditions associated with Santa Claus to a period considerably earlier than the birth of Jesus. Copies of his book, The Sacred Santa, were available.

Phebe Ransom spoke to members of the West Pasco Historical Society on Sept. 20, 2003. The topic was the Moon Lake Lodge and Gardens, which she worked to save in the 1990s shortly before the lodge burned down.

Eighteen-year-old Chris Wall donated a Civil War exhibit to the West Pasco Historical Society in July 2003. The collection was Wall's Eagle Scout project. Wall, a Mitchell High School graduate, became fascinated with Civil War history after learning two of his ancestors - brothers Robert and James Shelton - served in the 21st North Carolina Infantry. He says he plans to major in history at St. Petersburg College. A St. Petersburg Times article about the exhibit is here.
