Water Damage Help

Water Removal & Extraction

Water removal focuses on getting bulk water out of the structure so drying can move forward. It is often the first hands-on restoration step after the water source has been stopped or controlled.

Water spreading through the property?

Stop the source only if it is safe. Keep clear of electrical or sewage hazards, then call to discuss the affected area.

What water extraction addresses

Extraction can be needed when water is sitting on hard surfaces, soaking carpet and pad, collecting in lower areas, or spreading across multiple rooms. The goal is to remove as much free water as practical before relying on air movement and dehumidification for remaining moisture.

Extraction is not the same as drying

A room can look dry while materials still contain excess moisture. After standing water is removed, affected flooring, drywall, trim, cabinets or framing may still require moisture checks and controlled drying.

Before help arrives

If it is safe, stop the water source and move small valuables away from the wet area. Do not enter water where electrical hazards may be present, and do not handle sewage-contaminated water without appropriate protection.
